During the taking session of a digital test, there is the option to monitor if participants exit the tab or if they copy-paste content into their assignment. If these proctoring settings are enabled, both of these behaviours will be reported as incidents. The proctoring settings are only available for digital tests.
To configure the proctoring settings for your assignment, follow the steps below.
- Click the domain School name in the menu on the left.
- Click label_important Courses in the menu at the top.
- Select your course or use the search bar.
- Select your assignment or use the search bar.
- Click settings Settings in the menu at the top.
- Click Proctoring in the menu on the left.
There are two settings that can be enabled:
Report tab exiting
Report incidences of participants exiting the browser tab during the test (only for desktop devices). Any activity that occurs outside the Ans assignment page is also registered as tab exiting.
Report copy-pasting content
Report incidences of participants copy-pasting content during the test (only for desktop devices).
During the taking session, participants can be monitored on the 'Taking' page of the digital test. This also includes the incidents that are registered. The screenshot below shows that student Sherilyn Balistreri has 6 incidents registered.
Clicking on the participant's name will open an overview of incidents. As shown in the screenshot below, the participant pasted content into her assignment and also closed the assignment tab.
It is up to the institution to interpret the meaning of the incidents. Ans simply logs when and how often an incident occurs. We recommend using a proctoring integration for more in-depth information. The proctoring settings can be used in combination with the proctoring integrations Proctorio or ProctorExam.
