Changes to the platform
Removed the possibility for employees to access the answers of participants before a digital test has been submitted from the "Monitor participants during a digital test" beta feature
Based on our investigation, this option is not in line with the European GDPR laws. Other than this, the beta feature will stay unchanged. If you have any questions, please refer to your Customer Success Manager.
The overview of all important changes that may require an action from administrators can be found here.
Added the permission for the repro role to update a written assignment
A user with the repro role can now update a written assignment via the API. This allows them to update the "number_of_forms" to start the generation process of forms.
API changes
Renamed the "learners_can_join_or_leave" attribute to "learners_can_leave_group"
The 'learners_can_join_or_leave' attribute on the Groups endpoint is deprecated and will be removed with the 6th of January 2024 release. The attributes has been renamed to 'learners_can_leave_group' which better describes the feature's functionality. The functionality behind the attribute remains unchanged. Please update your usage of the API to rename 'learners_can_join_or_leave' to 'learners_can_leave_group' before the deprecation date.
Bug fixes
-
Fixed an issue where the Respondus import format for question bank exercises would not import images in multiple choice alternatives
Previously, it was not possible import a multiple choice question with an image as a choice alternative when using the Respondus format. This issue has been fixed.
-
Fixed an HTML error in the QTI import where imported content would include brackets
A parsing error with HTML would cause content in QTI format to be imported with brackets read from the file. This has been fixed and should no longer occur.
-
Improved the error message shown when entering an invalid formula in a spreadsheet question
Previously, when entering an invalid formula in the spreadsheet question, the error message did not explain why the formula was invalid. Now, the exact reason for the error is shown.
-
Fixed an issue with synchronisation that resulted in incorrect question enumeration
Previously, when removing questions from an exercise and synchronising them to the question bank, the questions would sometimes be enumerated incorrectly (for example: question a and c instead of question a and b). This issue has been fixed.
-
Fixed an issue where after copying and syncing a question to a question bank the question would not be visible
Previously, after copying questions from an exercise synced from the question bank to another exercise in the same assignment, and also sending or syncing the new exercise to the question bank, the new question would not show. This is no longer the case.
-
Fixed an issue where participants could not start an attempt in an assignment where an exercise was deleted
If results were removed from an assignment and then an exercise was deleted afterward, participants were unable to begin the assignment. This issue should no longer occur.
-
Fixed an issue where it was not possible to annotate in a digital test on a tablet
Previously, it was not possible to create annotations when marking a digital test using a tablet.
- Stopped displaying the "Plagiarism detected elsewhere" banner that linked to the currently graded answer
-
Negative decimal points on the results profile are now displayed rounded up rather than rounded down
Previously, results with negative points were displayed on the results profile rounded down. This may have given the impression that a greater number of points had been deducted than actually occurred. The results with negative points are now displayed rounded up to provide a more accurate representation.
-
Fixed an issue that caused content to be scrolled out of view when assuming an account
Previously, when assuming an account, some pages would have its content pushed downward by the banner, creating unnecessary scrolling. This banner can now be dismissed. It will reappear when refreshing or when navigating to a different page.
-
Fixed an issue where the preview of a written assignment would not load due to an unsupported character
Previously, when a written assignment contained a non-supported unicode character, the preview of the written assignment would not load and show an error message. We have now improved the special character support of the written assignment. If a character is identified that is not supported, the character will be replaced with its unicode representation, showing you where the unsupported character is. For example: -
When reviewing, the settings button now opens the dialogue instead of a dropdown
Previously, when reviewing assignments, the settings button (top right corner) would open a dropdown with only one option for the user to select. After selecting this option, a settings dialogue would open. Now, the settings button opens the dialogue directly.
-
Changed the imperative verbs to their infinitive form in Dutch
Changed all imperatives in the platform for the Dutch language to use the infinitive instead. The use of these forms was previously inconsistent.
