Once the Ouriginal integration has been configured, you can start using the integration in your assignment. You will first need to enable the integration in the settings of your assignment.
To enable Ouriginal for your assignment, follow the steps below.
- Click your domain School name in the menu on the left.
- Click label_important Courses in the menu at the top.
- Select your course or use the search bar.
- Select your assignment or use the search bar.
- Click settingsSettings in the menu at the top.
- Click Integrations in the menu on the left.
- Click Enable next to Ouriginal.
- A new page will automatically open where you can configure the Ouriginal settings for your assignment. A new tab Ouriginal is also created at the left side, below all regular digital test options.
For digital tests, Ans submits answers to open questions with 20 or more words, images uploaded inside an open question, files uploaded in a file upload question and answers to code questions.
Ouriginal settings
Now that Ouriginal is enabled for the assignment, you will find the Ouriginal tab at the left side, below all regular digital test options. On this page, you can find the 'Settings' and 'Actions'. If necessary, you can also remove Ouriginal for your assignment.
Under the option 'Settings', you can check the box Auto submit to automatically send submissions to Ouriginal for plagiarism checking once the student has submitted their assignment.
Under the option 'Actions', you can click Submit to Ouriginal to submit all answers that have not yet been analysed. This action can be done if the Ouriginal integration was enabled after students already submitted their assignments.
Under the option 'Visibility', you can check the box Show plagiarism significance, to allow students to see the plagiarism significance of their documents when the results are published.
In order for the submitted answers or files to be sent to Ouriginal for plagiarism analysis, the file or submission must adhere to certain requirements.
Supported file extensions: ‘.doc’, ‘.docx’, ‘.sxw’, ‘.ppt’, ‘.pptx’, ‘.pdf’, ‘.txt’, ‘.rtf’, ‘.html’, ‘.htm’, ‘.wps’, ‘.odt’
Maximum allowed file size: The maximum file size accepted by Ouriginal is based on the terms negotiated between your school and Ouriginal.
Minimum text content: The smallest amount of characters accepted by Ouriginal is 430.

Analyse results with Ouriginal
After an assignment has been submitted, with the Ouriginal integration enabled, you are able to check the submitted answers for citation mistakes or inappropriate copying.
- Click your domain School name in the menu on the left.
- Click label_important Courses in the menu at the top.
- Select your course or use the search bar.
- Select your assignment or use the search bar.
- Click beenhere Results in the menu at the top.
- Click on the student number you want to view.
- Click Ouriginal in the tab at the top.
- The Ouriginal report will be displayed.
Ans compiles the data from the Ouriginal integration within the platform. In this overview you will be able to see how much content matched per answered question. To view the individual Ouriginal report of a student, follow the steps below.
Once you have opened this tab, you are able to see the significance score which is expressed in the percentage of content that matched their database. You can also open the detailed overview of the matched content within Ouriginal by clicking on the blue percentage score.
When viewing the answers of a student, you will be prompted with a banner indicating that Ouriginal has detected plagiarism within the submission. By clicking on the name of the submission you will also be navigated to the plagiarism report within Ouriginal.
Ans also includes the significance score on the results page when the Ouriginal integration is enabled. This is the highest significance percentage recorded for all questions of the student.

Manual plagiarism check with Ouriginal
The default setting for the Ouriginal integration is to automatically send submissions to Ouriginal for plagiarism checking once students have submitted their assignment. It is also possible disable the auto submit option from within the settings of your assignment.
Disabling the 'Auto Submit' option allows you to manually decide whether to submit all results to Ouriginal from within the assignment settings. Please note, however, that with this option, you cannot select which specific answers get submitted.
This is where the option to manually send an answer to Ouriginal comes in. This option allows you turn off the auto-submit feature from within the assignment settings and manually submit answers. You can do this by navigating to the result of the student that you would like to perform the plagiarism check on. After selecting the necessary student and opening the tab 'Ouriginal'. You will see the button 'Send to Ouriginal' next to each answer. This allows you submit only the specific answers that you would like to check.
