Notifications

Notifications keep you informed whenever you're tagged, mentioned, assigned, or added to something within the platform. In your notification feed, you will also receive Platform announcements from ans*. These platform announcements will update you about important product changes and enhancements.

To check them, simply click the circle_notifications-icon in the top right corner.

Notifications open in a dropdown menu, allowing you to preview new notifications as they arrive. This allows you to either navigate to the relevant content or remain on your current page. You can also manage notifications from the review screen, simplifying tasks like handling flag assignments or responding to new replies.

Clicking on a notification takes you directly to the corresponding page. New notifications are prioritised at the top of your list, while older, read notifications gradually move to the bottom, providing a clear and organised activity log.

The button “See more notifications” appears if there are more than 7 read notifications.

You will receive a notification if someone has:

• Adds you as a reviewer for an assignment
• Starts a discussion about a graded assignment or responds to it.
• Assigns a flag to you, tags you in it, or responds to your flag.
• Tags you in a comment on an exercise in a course or item bank or responds to an exercise's comment section you have responded to
• Assigned a to-do to you or set to notify you when the to-do is completed

Platform announcements

In Platform announcements we share important product changes, enhancements, and other updates. This makes the information easier to find and less likely to be missed. Platform announcements do not replace our existing communication channels. 

The platform announcements appear in the notification feed as announcements from ans* and are sent to all existing employee accounts. Students do not receive these notifications.

Clicking an announcement redirects you to its dedicated page. Opening it marks the notification as read and moves it to the 'Previous' section. Like other notifications, it is removed after 90 days. The announcement itself remains available at its permanent URL.
