Managing learners across multiple platforms can be time-consuming and prone to errors. With the Sync learners with LMS feature, you can automatically synchronise learners from your Learning Management System (LMS) to your courses in Ans. This ensures that your course learners in Ans always reflects the latest enrolment changes in your LMS—without the need for manual updates.
After adding an LTI-link in your assignment, your LMS course is linked to the course in Ans. This makes it possible to synchronise the learners between both system if this feature is enabled.
When learners enrol in an LMS course, Ans automatically creates a new group in the corresponding course and assigns the learners to that group. The created group will be locked and cannot be updated in Ans; this must be done via the LMS. The group will have the same name as the course in the Learning Management System.
Any changes to the number of enrolled learners in the LMS are detected during our nightly synchronisation, and the group size in Ans is adjusted accordingly. If a learner clicks on the assignment link in the LMS course, they will be immediately added to the learners overview in the Ans course. If a list of learners is added to the LMS course, they will be enrolled and added to the learners overview in the Ans course the following day.
Ans does not send information to the LMS; we only check for changes during the nightly synchronisation. If a learner is removed from the Ans course, the nightly synchronisation will add them back if they are still enrolled in the LMS course. Learners can only be removed from the group if they are removed as a learner from the LMS course.
error_outline Keep in mind that Ans only removes a learner from the created group, but not from the Ans course. When creating a time slot, make sure to select the LMS group and not all learners.
