Courses are often part of a study and run for a fixed time during the academic year, such as a period or a semester. A course consists of assignments, learning objectives, staff and learners. Learners can be divided into classes consisting of multiple groups.
This article explains all options to manage your courses. Further down you can see all other options for courses.
To create a course, follow the steps below.
- Click your domain School name in the menu on the left.
- Click label_important Courses in the menu at the top.
- Click New Course.
- Fill in the name of the course.
- Select the school year, the school period and the study the new course belongs to.
- Click Create.
If you are frequently accessing certain courses in Ans, you have the option to pin them for easy access.
To pin courses to your course overview, follow the steps below.
- Click your domain School name in the menu on the left.
- Click label_important Courses in the menu at the top.
- Next to the button New course click on Pin courses.
- Select the courses you wish to pin to your course overview.
- Click Save.
To enable self-enrolment, follow the steps below.
- Click your domain School name in the menu on the left.
- Click label_importantCourses in the menu at the top.
- Select your course or use the search bar.
- Click settings Settings in the menu at the top.
- Click General in the menu on the left.
- Check the box Allow students to enrol themselves.
The log gives you insight into actions that are carried out within your course. Ans logs all activities, including the date and time, regarding:
- Creating a course
- Adding, updating or removing a user
- Creating or removing an assignment
To view the log, follow the steps below.
- Click domain School name in the menu on the left.
- Click label_importantCourses in the menu at the top.
- Select your course or use the search bar.
- Click settings Settings in the menu at the top.
- Click Log in the menu on the left.
- An overview of all activities will be visible.
Please note, the course log may appear different depending on which version is enabled for your school. You will only see this version of the course log if the beta feature 'Logs' has not yet been enabled by an administrator. If the 'Logs' beta feature is enabled, you will see this version.
If you have created a course by mistake, you can remove it. A course can only be removed if you are the instructor that created it. You cannot remove courses created by other instructors. If you have accidentally removed a course, please contact your administrator to restore it for you. Removed courses will be permanently deleted after 180 days.
To remove a course, follow the steps below.
- Click your domain School name in the menu on the left.
- Click label_importantCourses in the menu at the top.
- Select your course or use the search bar.
- Click settings Settings in the menu at the top.
- Click Remove in Danger zone section.
- Click Confirm.

- Manage your course users
- Manage your assignments
- Manage domains with objectives
