Instructors and reviewers can flag answers if they are uncertain about the number of points to award the participant for a specific question or would like to provide feedback on the marking of a colleague. Other reviewers or instructors can then take a look at the flagged answer to give a decisive answer. Adding, editing and resolving a flag can all be done in the grading overview of a question. This feature can be used both to indicate that you need to return to a question or to collaborate with your colleagues to increase the quality of your review. Instructors and reviewers are also able to view all flags per question.
Flag an answer
To flag an answer while reviewing an assignment, follow the steps below.
- Scroll down past the grading scheme and discussions within the exercise you are reviewing.
- Click the +New Flag button
- Add your comment. You can also use the rich text editor to format your answer by clicking on the text_formaticon.
- To add an assignee you can click on the assignee drop down and select an employee from within your course. You can also tag an employee by using the @. In both cases the assignee will receive a notification that they have been assigned to or mentioned in a flag.
- Once you have added your comment and optionally assigned it you can click on Save.
- If necessary, you can click the more_vert-icon at the top of the flag to: Copy a link to the flag; Assign a different user; Delete the flag
- Clicking on the more_vert-icon next to the body of the flag message will let you edit the content of the flag.
View and resolve flags
To review unresolved flags, follow the steps below.
- From the content_paste_search Review overview of your assignment, click on the unresolved flags chip. This chip will be present for every exercise that has a flag. You will also see one in the Review per Results section .
- You will automatically be navigated to the relevant exercise or result based on the chip you selected. Check the flag, and re-grade the answer if needed.
- To reply to a flag simply start typing in the text field under the relevant flag. You can similarly format your response via the text_formaticon.
- Once you have typed your response you can click on Save to reply.
- You can then click the more_vert-icon to edit or delete your response
- To resolve a flag click on the check_circle icon at the top of the flag. The check icon will turn green once the flag is resolved
- To un-resolve a flag you can click on the check mark again.
At this grading overview you are also able to view all the flags per exercise. To do this, click on View All (next to + New Flag). All the flags relevant to that exercise sorted by open and resolved. This will help you get a quick overview of all the possible points of attention indicated by you or your colleagues when reviewing.
If a flag is resolved, it will be added to the Resolved Flags chip. If you click on this chip, you first navigate through the unresolved flags. If all flags are resolved, you will be navigated through all resolved flags instead.
