This functionality allows you to add attachments to a specific exercise, instead of adding an attachment to the whole assignment. The attachment is then visible to participants in the same way as it is when added to the whole assignment. If the participant navigates to the next exercise, the attachment of that exercise (if any) is shown.
The following file types can be added as attachments and can be previewed within the test with 25MB as the maximum upload size per file:
- .png, .jpg, .jpeg
- .mp4
- .gif
Other file types can be uploaded as an attachment, but will need to be downloaded by the participant to be able to access the file during the assignment. Other file types include but are not limited to:
- .docx
- .zip
- .xls, .xlsx, .csv
- .txt
- .py
Uploading the following system files is prohibited:
- .avi
- .exe
- .sh
- .php
- .bat
- .com
- .cmd
- .inf
- .ipa
- .osx
- .pif
- .run
- .wsh
If you wish to add one of the above system files as an attachment, the file must be compressed into a zip file before uploading.
To add an attachment to an exercise, follow the steps below.
- Navigate to your assignment.
- Navigate to the exercise and click the more_horiz-icon.

- To preview how the attachment will appear to participants, click play_circle_outline Preview.
lightbulb_outline Currently, there is no limit on the combined maximum upload size, just per file. However, in case the upload limit has been increased, one exercise attachment cannot exceed the size of 500 MB.
