In the settings of your school, you have the option to set the Safe Exam Browser defaults for all assignments. This option allows organisations to set default settings for the Safe Exam Browser, reducing room for error and creating a more consistent experience for participants. If an instructor enables Safe Exam Browser for their digital test, the default settings will already be checked. They can still edit the options that apply to their test if desired. All Safe Exam Browser options are explained in the Use Safe Exam Browser in your digital test article.
If you make changes to the Safe Exam Browser defaults, the changes will only be applied to assignments that are created after that moment. Any assignments created before the changes were applied, will not contain the changed Safe Exam Browser defaults.
It is also possible for organisations to disable Safe Exam Browser for the whole school. Please note, that disabling the integration on your school level will disable the Safe Exam Browser integration for all assignments.
To set the Safe Exam Browser defaults, follow the steps below.
- Click the domainSchool name in the menu on the left.
- Click settingsSettings in the menu at the top.
- Scroll down to the installed integrations and click Safe Exam Browser in the menu on the left.
- Check or uncheck the options that apply.
- Click update.
error_outline Safe Exam Browser has discontinued support for the classic WebView, as it is no longer compatible with iOS/iPadOS 18 or later versions. As a result, students may be unable to start their digital tests on iPads when Safe Exam Browser is enabled. While this feature previously functioned, it is no longer operational on updated devices.
