Review ungraded multiple choice questions in a written assignment

After you have uploaded the scans of your written assignment, you can start reviewing. Ans will automatically grade closed-ended questions such as the multiple choice question. When the selected answer of a multiple choice question cannot be detected, Ans will mark the question as 'Ungraded'. Some examples of why a multiple choice question may be marked as 'Ungraded' include: 

• Multiple alternatives have been checked
• No alternative has been checked
• The checked answer is too faint or the cross is too small for Ans to reliably select an answer as the correct one
• The scan is skewed. Scans should contain at least 3 out of the 4 black squares.
• The barcode of the assignment was not recognised during scanning and needed to be inserted manually. In this way, the multiple choice alternatives are not processed. 

Multiple response questions may be marked as 'Ungraded' if: 

• No alternative has been checked
• The checked answers are too faint or the crosses are too small for Ans to reliably select the answers as the correct ones
• The scan is skewed. Scans should contain at least 3 out of the 4 black squares.

If a multiple choice question is marked as 'Ungraded', Ans leaves the answer options empty. It is up to the reviewer or the instructor to select the answer option(s) that the participant intended to select. If the participant did not select an answer, you can click the button No answer.
