On the 21st of June, the old cut-off score feature, renamed to cut-off table, will be permanently removed from Ans. This feature was available in closed beta and could only be used in combination with the Table mark calculation. It is being removed following the introduction of the Cut-off score mark calculation, which supersedes the previous cut-off table implementation.
What’s changing?
- The old cut-off table will no longer be available after the 21st of June 2026
- Once the new Cut-off score feature is enabled, the old feature can no longer be used
- Existing assignments using the old cut-off table will remain unchanged. If you choose to modify the mark calculation for these assignments, it will need to be converted to the new Cut-off score format.
What’s replacing it?
As of the 1 March release, a new mark calculation type called Cut-off score is available via the beta features. Unlike the old feature:

- Cut-off score is a separate mark calculation type, not tied to the Table calculation
- It can be configured at School level, allowing consistent defaults across assignments
- This new approach makes it easier to define pass thresholds, avoids incorrect calculations when point totals change, and provides better insight through live graphs and tables.
