The Safe Exam Browser software turns your computer temporarily into a secure workstation. It controls and restricts access to system functions, other websites and applications and prevents unauthorised resources being used during a digital test in Ans.
- Sign in to Ans
- Click on your course or use the search bar in the Courses-section.
- Click on your digital test or use the search bar.
- You will be redirected to the start page of your digital test. As shown in the screenshot below, you will first need to download and install Safe Exam Browser. If you click on the link Safe Exam Browser, the lockdown browser will automatically download.
- Once Safe Exam Browser is installed, click Start. A dialog will appear asking to open Safe Exam Browser. Click Open Safe Exam Browser.
- The application will start up and your browser will be locked. You will be directed to the start page of the digital test.
- Click Start. You will now be taking your digital test in the lockdown browser.
- Navigation in the digital test:
• Click the arrow_forward-icon to go to the next question.
• Click on the question number at the bottom to go directly to this specific question. - Test settings:
- Click the more_vert-icon at the top-right and click Test settings.
- Select the settings you want to make use of and click Close.
- Create notes (when enabled):
- Click sticky_note_2 Notes in the menu at the top.
- Click Note and write down your note, click Save.
Notes give you the option of adding a comment while taking your test. Notes can only be seen by you. Your teacher will not have access to these after the test is submitted.
- Leave test:
- Click the exit_to_app-icon in the bottom left corner of the page. Alternatively, click the more_vert-icon at the top-right and click Submit.
- A new page will open. Check the box Confirm to submit the digital test.
- Click Submit.
- Click Exit the Safe Exam Browser in order to return to your normal browser. A dialog will appear asking to quit Safe Exam Browser. Click Quit.
