Bug fixes
-
Fixed an issue where images in tables in a written assignment did not work as intended
Previously, when using an image in a table in a written assignment, the content of the next table cell would be appended to the image. Now, the cell content is displayed correctly.
-
Fixed an issue where the line tool did not remain in the same place when resizing your window in a drawing question
Previously lines would be drawn offset from the cursor when drawing, reloading the page, resizing the window, and then continuing to draw. Lines now appear at the correct cursor position and scale properly with the background after resizing.
-
Fixed an issue where empty flow groups could only be deleted after refreshing the page
Previously, when moving the last exercise to another flow group, the user had to reload the page to be able to delete the flow group. Now, the button is directly available in the dropdown.
-
Fixed an issue where unanswered submissions for open questions were marked as 'automatically graded'
Previously, if a student submitted their test without answering an open ended question, Ans automatically assigned 0 points to the submission and flagged it as 'automatically graded'. If the student was moved back to 'Busy' and then answered the open ended question, the 'automatically graded' flag was not disabled, even if the submission was manually graded afterwards. With this update, moving a student back to 'Busy' in the assignment correctly removes the 'automatically graded' flags, until the student submits the assignment again.
-
Fixed an issue where the Rir-value was calculated incorrectly
Previously, Rit and Rir values were calculated using a normalisation step to account for differences in maximum achievable points per student, such as in assignments with flow. However, the normalisation contained an error if at least one participant in the assignment answered the question incorrectly. We have therefore simplified the calculation method by removing the normalisation step. Rit and Rir values are now calculated using a consistent approach for all participants, ensuring stable and reliable results going forward.
For assignments that use flow groups (where students may have different maximum point totals), the calculation now follows this unified method. A service incident with additional background information will be shared soon.
-
Fixed an issue where javascript was not always initialised correctly inside SEB
Previously, javascript would not always be initialised correctly while inside the Safe Exam Browser (SEB). This would result in a range of problems, such as PDFs in written assignments not loading, as well as the submit button not initialising and therefore being unusable. All these issues would be resolved upon reloading the page. Now, the javascript is initialised as expected, so that the Safe Exam Browser works as expected again.
-
Fixed an issue where an authorisation error was shown when trying to edit the grading scheme
Previously, an instructor would sometimes be redirected to the 'Access denied' page when trying to edit a grading scheme. This error occurred if the question (and its grading scheme) was copied from a question bank from a different university. This update ensures that questions copied from other question banks can be edited by instructors.
-
Fixed an issue where dropdown gaps in fill-in-the-gaps questions would strip HTML tags
Previously, fill-in-the-gaps questions using dropdown gaps would strip the enclosing HTML tags if they were present in the answer. This would then be compared to the value with HTML tags, resulting in the answer always being incorrect. Now, the value is compared directly, ensuring that the selected answer is being used in the comparison. After investigating, no institutions were impacted.
