We are currently investigating an issue regarding the guess score of questions containing choice alternatives (multiple choice, multiple response and order questions). This was brought to our attention through a ticket from a user on Thursday June 25th at 16:04.
After investigation we found the following:
If an alternative was removed from a question due to synchronisation, the resulting change in guess score would not be applied to the question. This could therefore lead to a guess score that was outdated and incorrect.
What we have done so far:
- Deployed a fix to prevent any new cases from being created
- Corrected a large number of questions of which the assignment had no results yet
- Corrected a large number of questions in assignments with the guess correction disabled
We are working on finding a definitive impact, including all questions that caused incorrect marks, and the effect that recalculation would have on the marks.
As time goes on we will be correcting more incorrect questions automatically if this has no effect on marks. All incorrect questions that do have an impact on marks will be communicated to their respective institution once the complete impact is known.
