In the previous step you learnt how to create a question bank. In this step you will learn how to add contributors to your question bank. Contributors are able to create exercises and question bank assignments. They can also review exercises and question bank assignments from other contributors of the question bank.
There are two contributor roles:
- Publisher
A publisher has all permissions within a question bank. They can create exercises and question bank assignments, add domains and objectives, add contributors and edit the settings. - Author
An author of a question bank is only able to add exercises, domains and objectives. Authors are not able to add question bank assignments, contributors or change the settings of a question bank.
There are three ways to add contributors to your question bank. If you click group Contributors in the menu at the top, you will see the button New contributors and the drop down menu Add contributors.
New contributor
To add a contributor to your question bank that does not yet have an existing Ans account , click the button New contributor. Fill in their name and email. Click the drop-down menu and select Author or Publisher and then click Create. The user will receive an invite via email. The invited user will also becomes a staff member of your school.
Add contributor (From your school)
To add a contributor from your school, click the drop down menu Add contributors and select From your school. The default role is Author. To change the role, click the dropdown menu and select Publisher. By default, the list will open displaying other employees. If you wish to add students (teaching assistants) then click the drop-down menu Employee and select Student. Check the boxes next to the the contributors you want to add and click Add.
Add contributor (Using an email address)
To add a contributor with an existing Ans account, (outside of your school), click the drop down menu Add contributors and select Using an email address. Fill in the email of the contributor you want to add. Click the drop-down menu and select Author or Publisher and click Add.
