There are two ways to create a group within your course. The first one is through the Members section of your course by following the steps below.
- Click the domain School name in the menu on the left.
- Click on label_important Courses in the menu at the top.
- Click on your course or use the search bar in the Courses-section.
- Click on group Members in the menu at the top and click Groups in the tab in the top left.
- Click New group and fill in a group name.
- Click Save.
- After creating a group in your course, you can add students to the group.

Creating a group from the results overview
Groups can also be created from the results page of an assignment. This can be useful to create groups based on points or marks. You can create a group from the results page by following the steps below.
- Click the domain School name in the menu on the left.
- Click on label_important Courses in the menu at the top.
- Click on your course or use the search bar in the Courses-section.
- Click on your assignment or use the search bar.
- Click policy Results in the menu at the top.
- Select the students you want to add to a group.
- Click the drop-down button More and choose Create a group.
- Fill in the group name and click Save.
Group settings
Click on the group you want to adjust the settings of and then click Settings to visit the settings page. On this page you can change the name of the group. You will also see two other options:
- Learners can join or leave
If this option is enabled, learners can join or leave the group by themselves. - This group can start or hand in a group assignment
If this option is enabled, students can participate with the group in group assignments. A student can only be in one group with this option enabled.
