In this step, you will learn how to review exercises together with your colleagues.
In the previous step, you learnt how to prepare for reviewing. If you are reviewing the test together with your colleagues or using teaching assistants, you can assigning reviewers to divide up the workload. If you are reviewing the test by yourself you can skip this article and continue with Step 3.
Add colleagues to your course
Before you can assign exercises to reviewers, the reviewers must be added to the course. Click on the course name in the top bar and click on group Members.
Access to exercises is based on the users role in the course.
- Instructors
Instructors have access to all exercises and groups by default, but it is possible to assign a specific exercise to an instructor. - Reviewers
Reviewers are only able to review exercises that they are assigned to, but they are able to review all groups by default. Reviewers never see the option to review per student, only to review per exercise.
If you prefer for your colleagues to be able to access everything in the course, including results and insights, you can add them as instructor to the course. If you are grading with teaching assistants, you can add them as reviewer. Click on Add staff and select the role you want to assign. If you can't find your colleagues in the list, you can invite them to Ans by clicking on New staff. Read more about adding staff members to a course here.
Assign reviewers
Go back to your assignment and click on settings Settings and click on Assign reviewers in the menu on the left. You will be taken to the Assign reviewers page.
Assign exercises
If you and your colleague are grading the same exercises within a test, Ans will make sure that you are never grading the same student. To assign instructors or reviewers to specific exercises, follow the steps below:
- Select the reviewer you want to assign exercises to
- Click on Assign Exercises
- Select the exercises you want to assign
- Click on Save
Assign groups
If groups were used in your digital test, then it is possible to assign a certain group to another reviewer to further divide the workload. You can create groups or import groups before the taking season of your digital test.
To assign groups, follow these steps below:
- Select the reviewer you want to assign groups to
- Click on Assign Groups
- Select the groups you want to assign
- Click on Save
Locked question during reviewing
When a colleague is reviewing a question, the access will be locked for other users. Questions will be locked to prevent two users from grading the same question. The lock is automatically removed after 30 minutes if there is no activity.
