In this step, you will learn how to finalise and preview your test.
In the previous step, you learnt how to adjust the test settings. After completing these steps and finalising your test, you can click on Preview to see how your test will appear to your students.
Customise layout
You can add instructions to your test that can be shown to your students before, during and after the test. You can also customise the layout of the test, which will be explained in more detail below.
Edit instructions
- Description before the test
This description can be shown to students before starting the test, even when test is not available yet. This could be to let your students know how many exercises are included in the test, the number of points that make up the test or the materials that are allowed during test, a calculator for example. - Description during the test
This description will be visible at the top of the page for every exercises during the test. This can include information about how long they have to complete the exam and other specific details. - Description after the test
This description will be shown to students after they have submitted their test. Normally, a confirmation that their answers have now been submitted and an instruction on how to logout. Ans will show a confirmation message with the confirmation time.
Edit layout
- Display the exercise name
You can disable this option if you don't want your students to see the questions name. - Display the number of points for each question
When you enable this option, the number of points for each question are shown in the margin. - Shuffle the answer options
By enabling this option, all question types with answer options are shuffled, e.g. multiple choice, order, match and hotspot match. - Display name and description of question groups
If you have set the name or description of question groups in the 'flow' tab, you can enable this option to make it visible. - Shuffle order of question groups
By enabling this option, all question groups will be displayed in a random order. - Add enumeration
Select the type of enumeration you would like to use or disable this option by selecting no enumeration. - Test layout
If your school has defined its own test layout, you can select the preferred layout. You can read more about test layouts here.
Preview your test
Once you have finalised your test, you can see how it looks by clicking Preview. You will then be taken to a screen where you can read the "before test" instructions. Click Start to begin with the test and you'll be taken to the first exercises. Use the buttons at the bottom of the page to look at all exercises of your test.
To exit the test, click the 3 dots in the top right corner and click on Exit test. Click Submit in the popup that appears and then click Confirm. You will then be taken to the finished screen where you can see the "after test" instructions. You have the option to click Exit to go back to edit the test or to click Review to preview the grading scheme.
