In this step, you will learn how to finalise and preview your test.
In the previous step, you learnt how to adjust the test settings. After completing these steps, you can finalise your test by customising the layout by enabling different layout options and by adding test instructions. When you are ready to preview your test, you can then click on play_circle_outline Preview to see how your test will appear to your students.
format_shapes Edit layout
To edit the layout of your digital test, click the dropdown menu Customise layout in the preview section. You will see two options. Click format_shapes Edit layout. From here, you can choose from various layout options. This includes the layout of exercises, the option to shuffle the order of answer options and question groups, select which enumeration you would like to use and the option to use a theme for your digital test.
Options for the layout of your digital test
- Display the exercise name
The titles of the exercises will be displayed. - Display the number of points for each question
The number of maximum points for each question is displayed. - Shuffle the answer options
The answer options of multiple-choice questions and hotspot match questions will be shuffled. - Display names of question groups
The names of the question groups will be displayed. - Shuffle order of question groups
This option gives every participant a different order of exercises. The order of the exercises in a digital test is based on the order of the question groups set under the flow tab. When picking multiple exercises from one group you have the option to shuffle the selected exercises within the group. - Add enumeration
Choose for which enumeration you want the questions to be displayed in. For example:
'1a 1b 2a 2b 2c 3', '1 2 3 4 5' or no enumeration. - Test layout
Themes can be used to give a digital test its own style, such as your school's identity.
If a theme has been created for your school, you can use it in your digital test.
book Test instructions
To add test instructions, click the dropdown menu Customise layout in the preview section and select book Test instructions. From here, you can add an integrity statement, add descriptions that can be shown to your students before, during and after the test and check the the box that allows students to leave a comment after they have submitted their test.
- Integrity statement
You can add an integrity statement to your test instructions by checking the box 'Require to agree to the declaration of integrity'. Students will then be required to check the integrity statement box before they start the test. - Description before the test
This description can be shown to students before starting the test, even when test is not available yet. This could be to let your students know how many exercises are included in the test, the number of points that make up the test or the materials that are allowed during test, a calculator for example. - Description during the test
This description will be visible at the top of the page for every exercises during the test. This can include information about how long they have to complete the exam and other specific details. - Description after the test
This description will be shown to students after they have submitted their test. Normally, a confirmation that their answers have now been submitted and an instruction on how to logout. Ans will show a confirmation message with the submission time. - Allow comments after the test
Allows students to leave a comment after they have submitted their test. In addition to leaving a comment, participants can also upload a file or an image.
Preview your test
Once you have finalised your test, you can see how it looks by clicking play_circle_outline Preview. You will then be taken to a screen where you can read the "before test" instructions. Click Start to begin with the test and you'll be taken to the first exercises. Use the buttons at the bottom of the page to look at all exercises of your test.
To exit the test, click the 3 dots in the top right corner and click on exit_to_app Exit test. Click Submit in the popup that appears and then click Confirm. You will then be taken to the finished screen where you can see the "after test" instructions. You have the option to click Start reviewing to start reviewing the previewed results or to click Close preview to go back to edit the test.
