Ans distinguishes between learners and staff. There are 4 different roles for employees.
- Administrator: this role can create, view, modify and delete all content of all departments. In addition, this role has full access to all settings of the application, all reports and administrative data such as invoicing. This way, the persons who have this role can retrieve the overview of employees or students with one click and easily see which role this person has (in the case of an employee). The administrators also have the possibility to change settings related to authorization. For example, they can set whether teachers are allowed to create their own courses and/or itembanks.
- Department administrator: this role can create, view, modify and delete all content of the department to which this role is assigned. In addition, this role has access to the settings, limited to the department to which the role is assigned.
- Repro: this role is used for printing & scanning the paper collection of exams. This person has access to the print & scan functionality of the platform and can print exams to be taken and upload paper exams made after scanning into the platform.
- Instructor: this role is used for teachers and with this role the user has rights to create, modify and delete all content. Access is limited to the courses that the instructor has created or to which the instructor has privileges. In case an instructor is added to a course, authorizations can be limited for that particular course. See more information about course staff here.
