Exercises can be put into itembanks in different ways. An exercise can be created from zero in an itembank, an existing exercise from an assignment can be stored in an itembank, or an exercise can be imported into an itembank. These three options will be discussed first in this article. Also, it will be discussed how to find a exercise easily in an itembank.
Create an exercise
Objectives can be added to a exercise to find out which objectives are covered by the exercise. To add an objective to a exercise , go to the tab Objectives in the menu of an exercise in an itembank. Next, click Edit in the bar of the question you wish to add an objective to. A screen as the image below will pop up. In this pop-up, search for the objective you want in the search bar or by scrolling down. Select the right objective and click SAVE.
While creating and especially during the reviewing of exercises, in which multiple iterations can be made in the optimizing of the exercises, it can be useful to use the version manager. The version manager can be found in the tab VERSIONS in the right of the screen when editing an exercise as seen in the image below. The version manager does not automatically save versions except for the first version, which is created before any content or question is added to the exercise. To create a version, click CREATE VERSION in the tab VERSIONS. Directly a block containing your latest version will appear. Now you can switch versions at any time you wish. When the page is left after making changes, the changes will be saved automatically in the latest version.

Import an exercise
Copy an exercise
Now, a pop-up will appear in which all itembanks are listed which you have access to. Select in this list the itembank the exercise should be copied to and click COPY EXERCISES. The exercise(s) can not be moved, but to get to the same result, the exercise(s) can be copied to another itembank and subsequently deleted in the first itembank.

Create your own labels
It is possible to create custom labels to label the exercises. This is possible from the page 'About' in the menu of an itembank. When in this window, an option at the right is found Manage labels.
After clicking this option, the following window will be found. Here the current labels can be edited or deleted, and different labels can be created by clicking the red plus in the bottom right corner. Also, the default label can be set in the edit window.
Adding tags to exercises can be a simple way to find exercises fast when your question bank is getting larger and larger. A tag is build up of a key and a value. A key is for example language, chapter or difficulty. The value can then be Dutch, 5.1 or hard respectively.
Add a tag by clicking the button Add tag above the exercise input and fill in the key and value in the pop-up that appears.
Filter on tags by clicking Tags in the exercises overview. First, select one or multiple key(s) and subsequently select the value(s).
