In Ans, you can invite colleagues to your course. This allows you to reduce your administrative load and increase collaboration. You can even invite colleagues from outside your school. In instances where the institution allows you to do so, you can invite students and assign them as a staff member. This is mainly used for student/teaching assistants. In these cases, students will be granted staff authorisation for your course only.
Within a course the following roles are available:
- Instructor
If you create a course yourself, you automatically become an instructor within your course. An instructor has all rights within a course. It’s possible to invite colleagues to your course. You can also allocate reviewers to specific questions or groups. Your university's admin can access all courses, but will not be listed as an instructor. - Invigilator
As an invigilator, you have the option to monitor the taking-session of a test, you can visit the results page, you have the option to plan a test and you have the ability to add students to the course and to assignments. - Reviewer
As a reviewer, you have the opportunity to review the exercises of students you have been assigned to. Read more about assigning reviewers here. - Learners
Learners have the opportunity to participate in assignments that are linked to the course. The learner will only see the courses and assignments that are allocated to the learner. Also, assignments are available for learners in case they are added to a time slot and when the actual time falls within the time slot.
