If you are ready to start with the Canvas integration, you will need to activate the integration on school level in Ans. You can set up the integration in Ans or in Canvas.
Set up the integration in Ans
- Click the domain School name in the menu on the left.
- Click settings Settings in the menu at the top.
- Click Integrations in the menu on the left.
- Click Configure in the Canvas-section.
- Enter your key and password and click Activate.
Set up the integration in Canvas
- Sign in to Canvas
- Click Courses in the menu on the left and go to your course.
- Click Settings in the menu on the left.
- Click Apps in the switch at the top, which brings you to the page with External Apps.
- Click View app configurations.
- Click + App and select the configuration type By URL.
- Fill in a name, the LTI consumer key, LTI consumer secret and Config URL.
- Click Submit.
- The tool is added and will be displayed in the overview.
- Click the settings-icon and click Edit.
- Click the drop-down button Privacy and choose Public.
- Click Submit.

Now that the Canvas integration is set up, you can create a LTI-link for an assignment.
