The following article is to inform you of changes to the platform, user interface changes and bug fixes of the previous releases on our production environment (ans.app).
Changes to the platform
The Alumni feature has been released out of beta
Admins can now mark students as alumni, which will hide them from the student overview. Once a student is marked as an alumni, they will no longer appear in the list of active students. This feature provides a way for admins to manage the student list and keep track of current and past students. When a student is marked as alumni, they will not be shown in the general users overview, but hidden behind a filter.
Marking students as alumni can be helpful if you have alumni that you are required to keep data of for a period of time, but you would like to hide their accounts in the user overview. By making use of the student filter in the user overview, you can filter on students or on alumni.
Alumni are still included in any counters related to users in the platform.
Added the option to create evaluation forms to add to hand-in assignments and appraisal forms in a question bank
When creating a question bank assignment, you will now see the option to select the assignment type ‘Hand-in assignment’ and ‘Appraisal form’. In addition, the new question type ‘Evaluation form’ has been added when creating an exercise in a question bank.
Option to select a hand-in assignment or an appraisal form when creating a question bank assignment
Option to select the evaluation form question when creating an exercise in the question bank
Added support for matrix interactions in the equation editor
We have updated the equation editor to the latest version which brings several fixes and improvements. For example, we have added a new tab for matrix interactions, but keyboard shortcuts are also supported.
Shortcut | Command |
ctrl/cmd + Return/Enter | addRowAfter |
ctrl/cmd + shift + Return/Enter | addRowBefore |
ctrl/cmd + ; | addRowAfter |
ctrl/cmd + shift + ; | addRowAfter |
ctrl/cmd + shift + ; | addColumnAfter |
ctrl/cmd + shift + , | addColumnBefore |
In addition, the layout of the virtual symbol keyboard has changed. See attached images for old and new layout.

For a list of all changes see: https://github.com/arnog/mathlive/blob/master/CHANGELOG.md. We have updated the editor to version 0.87.1.
All trashed items will be permanently deleted after 180 days
All user-deleted data, such as removed results, assignments, courses, users and question banks, can only be recovered for up to 180 days. After that, it will be permanently deleted. This follows best practices for handling user-generated data on other software as a service platforms.
It was previously announced that all trashed users would be permanently deleted after 180 days. Please note, that users that are currently trashed will not be permanently deleted with retroactive effect. This means that only if a users is trashed after the release of February 19th, the 180 day counter will start. For now, these currently trashed users will remain trashed but will not be permanently deleted, including their results. For the next release, we will align closer with our users to investigate the boundaries and impact of the feature. We do aim to go through with this change in the long run, however we want to better understand the implications first.
If a student is trashed, all results will be also be trashed
The results of a student are also placed in the trash when a student is deleted. This makes the consequences of deleting students more visible.
As mentioned in the above feature, students that are currently trashed will not be permanently deleted with retroactive effect. This means that only if students are thrashed after the release of February 19th, the 180 day counter will start. For now, these currently trashed students will remain trashed but will not be permanently deleted, including their results.
Added multiple choice breakdown to question bank assignment insights
The discrimination values for answer alternatives were added to the question bank assignment insights. This will provide publishers with insights that could help to improve questions and answer alternatives.
Added support for spellchecking with the fill-in question
Previously, enabling spell check was only applicable for the open question. It will now also apply to fill-in questions.
Assignment labels and question bank labels are now ordered on name alphabetically
Assignment labels and question bank labels are now sorted alphabetically based on the label names. This will improve readability of the labels list and usability of the platform.
Added support for the LTI 1.3 Deeplink service
We would first like to mention, that this feature was not included in the original pre release article that was published on the 10th of February 2023. It was added to the pre release article on the 16th of February 2023.
With the Deeplink service, it is now possible to link an activity in a Learning Management System (LMS) with an assignment in Ans. This change only adds support to LtiResourceLinks. The flow for users is nearly identical as with the basic launch.
For Brightspace users, it is recommended to use Deeplinking to link activities to Ans assignments, as this is the only way to send grades. This change is mostly relevant to Brightspace users, as other LMS support sending grades with the basic launch.
Renaming of multiple elements in the platform
Based on your feedback, we are working on multiple interface inconstancies and improvements. Below you can find the element(s) that have been renamed, including the place in the platform where it changed. The change is applied to all translations of the platform unless indicated otherwise.
- Renamed the tab 'Assignments' to 'Assignment protection rules' in the school settings. This applies to the English version of the platform only.
- Renamed the tab 'Toets' to 'Toets beschermingsregels' in the school settings. This applies to the Dutch version of the platform only.
- Renamed the question type 'Review question' to 'Evaluation question' in an appraisal form and hand-in assignment. This applies to the English version of the platform only.
- Renamed the question type 'Beoordelingsvraag' to 'Beoordelingsformulier' in an appraisal form and hand-in assignment. This applies to the Dutch version of the platform only.
- Renamed 'Remove assignment' to 'Remove' in the danger zone section of an assignment. This applies to the English version of the platform only.
- Renamed 'Verwijder toets' to 'Verwijder' in the danger zone section of an assignment. This applies to the Dutch version of the platform only.
- We updated the confirmation description when storing an exercise in the description. The description of the confirmation dialogue was changed to improve clarity on the outcome of the storing action. Also, consistency of the used terminology was improved by renaming the 'library' to 'question bank'.
Open beta changes
Our available open beta features can be found in the school settings of your school. By default, all open beta features are disabled upon release. Only administrators can view and activate open beta features. As beta features are eventually moved to global release, we encourage administrators to enable and test open beta features on the stage environment. Your feedback can help shape the feature before it is moved out of beta.
Beta features are functional features and fit for use in large organisations. Based on feedback of our users, we might change or iterate on several aspects of these features. Usually, this means we will add new elements and functionality to these features. It is also possible to provide direct feedback for features that are already in open beta.
Replaced the CSV import to Respondus import format
As announced earlier, the CSV import and export has been deprecated. Instead, the Respondus import and export has been developed further. All Ans question types can be imported now. Please note that you do not need Respondus or any other third party tool to use this import. We only stick to the Respondus import format.
The documentation for the Respondus import will be updated as soon as possible, so it is clear exactly how the import works. The import template contains examples of each question type already. The template can be found by selecting the Respondus import when you choose Import in your question bank.
Added flow groups to mark calculation variables
With the beta feature 'Mark calculation' enabled, you can use flow groups in the mark calculation formula. Variables for the all flow groups are available in the mark calculation formula. This will expand opportunities for calculating points.
The Schoolyear integration has been upgraded
We have updated the Schoolyear integration to comply with V2 of Schoolyear and V2 of Schoolyear's API. The improved version of Schoolyear now supports Chromebooks more seamlessly.
API updates
No additions have been added to the API this release.
Important changes
A new important change has been added this release. We also wanted to remind our user that for next release, two important changes will be deployed. These changes were already announced in an earlier stage.
-
12th of March 2023 - Restrictions to the amount of users that can be added to a group or class
We previously announced that we had added a restriction of 1000 users in a group and class. Based on your feedback, we have decided to revert this change. This is what can be expected instead:
- The limit will be set to 50.000 students per group to prevent any issues from happening in this release.
- During the release scheduled on the 12th of March the limit will be reduced.
- From your feedback, we found that the amount of 1000 students was not enough, so we have reconsidered the limitations. The following limits will apply from the 12th of March 2023 onwards:
- 2500 students per group
- 1000 students per class
- 12th of March 2023 - Update date and time format in export files
We are changing the current exports that contain date time fields. The date time fields will be made consistent by using the ISO6801 format (2022-12-31T19:19:19+01:00)
A consistent export format will make it easier for users to process exports in an automated way. - 12th of March 2023 - Step by step guides removed from the help center
Currently, our help centre consists of instruction articles for administrators, employees and students. It also includes step by step guides for employees and students. We have already stopped updating the step by step guides as we are focusing on improving and restructuring the instruction articles. The step by step guides will be depricated.
The overview of all important changes can be found here.
Bug fixes
- Fixed an issue where the numeral of the submission would not be set if an exercise did not contain any questions
This issue would result in the bottom navigation bar during grading to appear incorrect. - Fixed an issue where incorrect filters would be shown in question bank assignments
We removed the school levels and school years filter on the question bank assignments overview page as they were shown unintentionally. - Fixed an issue where exercises were unlinked from the question bank when copying an assignment
When copying an assignment that was linked to a question bank assignment, then the "new" copied assignment would also be linked to the same question bank assignment. This broke due to another code change, but is fixed with this story. - Fixed an issue with Readspeaker where the state of the option 'Click and listen' is not persisted between page reloads
The option 'Click and listen' allows Readspeaker to read part of a text with one click. If this option is enabled and a user reloads the page (or navigates to a different question), the mentioned behaviour stops working. This bug affected teachers, students and everyone who had access to the Readspeaker functionality. The option 'Click and listen' will only need to be enabled once. Reloading of the page or navigating to a different question will not have any impact on this functionality.
- Show participant names instead of name of the user who is viewing the participant answers
Changed the name in the header of the monitoring view from the user who is viewing the participant to the participant's name. This will improve the clarity of the interface. - Fixed an issue where the 'send invite' button would not sent an invitation to the user if they had previously signed in before.
Invitations are not sent to users that have already signed in, but the sign in button would make it look like a invitation was sent. We now disable the 'send invite' button if the invitation can not be send. - Fixed an issue where an error message will be show when attempting to sign in using SSO after preselecting a school
The request made by clicking on a preselected school would not work for custom single sign-on providers. - Fixed an issue with changing the points of a bubble sheet assignment
It is now possible again to change the points of a bubble sheet question after the assignment has been taken. - Fixed an issue with the fill-in questions when modifying the HTML of a question
We have fixed an issue when manually modifying the HTML of a fill-in question, would sometimes unlink gaps from the question, displaying only a blue box in the digital test. - Fixed issues with missing images in QTI export
At this moment, we do not support image descriptions. We only support in-line images. We currently take all descriptions until the first question and add the descriptions to the QTI question of the question. This means that descriptions after the last question are not taken into account. - Fixed an issue where the download button of the pdf viewer would disappear
We have fixed an issue where the download button would disappear when moving to a different student during grading. - Changed unread icon for notifications back to 'filled'
Reverted the 'unread' icon for notifications from 'outlined' to 'filled'. This will indicate unread notifications more clearly.
Changes to the platform
Added new log in methods and updated the styling of login page
Summary: The styling of the login page has been updated, clarifying the process of logging in with your school account. In addition, you now have the option to log in with your Google or Microsoft account, unless the school requires you to log in with your school account.
Additional information: Logging in with your Google or Microsoft account only works for existing accounts. The two-factor authentication (2FA) is still enforced when logging in via Google or Microsoft. If you are using a secure environment such as a kiosk application or STEP stick and you want to allow user login via Google and/or Microsoft, make sure that the correct URLs are whitelisted in your security application. The links have been made available in the updated whitelist article here.
Set the default Safe Exam Browser settings in school settings
Summary: You can now set the default settings for the Safe Exam Browser in the school settings.
Benefits: This allows organisations to set default settings for the Safe Exam Browser, reducing the room for error and creating a more consistent experience for participants. It also allows organisations to disable Safe Exam Browser throughout the whole school.
Additional info: By default the integration will be disabled. For schools that have already used the integration in an assignment, the integration will stay enabled. Disabling the integration on school level disables all Safe Exam Browser integrations on all assignments.
We now allow viewing student answers with multiple users outside of the reviewing workflow
Summary: It is now possible to view student answers while another user is viewing the same answers when navigating to a student answer via the student's result overview or via a link that has been shared with you.
Benefits: This was a source of annoyance for several teachers, especially while attempting to discuss a student's work among colleagues. Users can now view student answers simultaneously and collaborate more easily.
Additional information: Student answers are still locked when navigating to the next ungraded answer in the review overview. This is to ensure you and your colleagues do not grade the same student twice/at the same time. Changes to grading are as of yet not updated in real time when viewing student's work together.
Updated button styling for creating new tags and relations of question bank exercises and for assigning tags of question bank assignments
Summary: The buttons to create new tags and question relations have been changed from a rectangular button to a fixed '+' button on the same line as the Tag area's title. The styling has also been applied to question bank assignments.
Benefits: The new styling gives it a fixed location, which makes it easier to find.
Additional information: We are working on standardising many of the buttons that are being used within the platform. This is to create a greater sense of consistency, so the user can expect how a certain button looks and what action it will perform, based on its appearance.

Improved the performance of planning a question bank assignment
Summary: The performance of copying an assignment from a question bank to course has been improved.
Improved showing multiple choice content in the question editor
Summary: When editing exercises, the stripped content (without HTML formatting) of choices were displayed. This caused images added in answer alternatives of a multiple choice questions to not be displayed.
Benefits: The formatted content is now displayed, including images, while editing exercises.
Removed the option to downgrade an employee to a student from the employee overview page
Summary: We removed the option downgrade an employee to a student from the employee tab at the users overview. We removed this as we discovered that it was not functional as students require a student number. Instead, this will need to be done by using the "Convert to student" option under the settings of the user. From here, you will be prompted to enter the student number for this user.
Benefits: Removing this option avoids confusion as it was not functional.
During a digital test session, crossed-out alternatives will now be preserved
Summary: Previously, when participants navigated to a new exercise, crossed-out alternatives were lost. Now, during a digital test session, the crossed-out alternatives are preserved.
Benefits: This allows participants to freely navigate through the digital test and continue answering multiple choice questions at a later time.
Moved the fill-in question breakdown in the question insights to a collapsible table
Summary: In line with earlier changes to breakdowns of other question types, the breakdown of fill-in questions has now also been moved to a collapsible.
Changed the order of the name in generated PDF's for classes
Summary: As announced in the last release, we changed the pdf name of generated forms. The same data is available in the filename but shown in a different order.
The order has been changed from: [class]-[form position]-[student number]-[student name].pdf to: [class]-[student name]-[form position]-[student number].pdf.
Benefits: This change allows for easier sorting the forms before printing. This change only has an impact if classes are used. The order of the student name is dependent on the name sorting which can be set in the general university settings.
Additional information: This change has no impact on PDF forms that were printed before this release, but were scanned and processed after the this release.
Added pagination when viewing the users of a class
Summary: We have added pagination to loading the users on the overview page for users in classes.
Benefits: The pagination only loads a certain number of users at a time, making the page more responsive.
Renaming of multiple elements in the platform
Summary: Based on your feedback, we are working on multiple interface inconstancies and improvements. Below you can find the element(s) that have been renamed, including the place in the platform where it changed. The change is applied to all translations of the platform unless indicated otherwise.
- Renamed 'Done' to 'Submitted' on the taking page of a digital test and hand-in assignment. This applies to the English version of the platform only.
- Renamed 'Aantal opgaven' to 'Aantal vragen' in the layout of a bubble sheet assignment. This applies to the Dutch version of the platform only.
- We have removed the statement "New accounts can only be created by using SSO, LTI or the API." from the description of the Enforce SSO feature, as it is not accurate. Users are still able to create new accounts via imports and it was removed to avoid confusion.
- "Allow students to enrol themselves in this course" has been changed to "Allow students to enrol themselves" in the course settings.
Open beta changes
Our available open beta features can be found in the school settings of your school. By default, all open beta features are disabled upon release. Only administrators can view and activate open beta features.
Beta features are functional features and fit for use in large organisations. Based on feedback of our users, we might change or iterate on several aspects of these features. Usually, this means we will add new elements and functionality to these features. It is also possible to provide direct feedback for features that are already in open beta.
Mark calculation variables has been released to open beta
Summary: We have released mark calculation variables to open beta. This is an addition to the mark calculation feature for all assignments. Mark calculation variables can be used to create elaborate marking formulas using different sections of an assignment.
Benefits: The use of variables allows instructors to grade different sections of an assignment separately.
Additional info: Variables that can be used are points obtained (by the participant) & total points for all:
- Open questions
- Closed questions
All information on the new beta feature can be found in this article.
Important: Mark calculation variables can only be used if your school has migrated to the new way of calculating the guess correction. Please contact support for more information.
Log feature additions
Summary: We have added additions to the logs feature. Below, you can find the logs including the information which is logged for that particular log.
- School log (for administrators only)
In this log, changes to the following attribute(s) are logged:- School name
- Question bank log
In this log, changes to the following attribute(s) are logged:- Question bank name

It is no longer possible for authors of a question bank to export exercises
Summary: The ability to export exercises to CSV using the beta feature has been removed for authors.
Benefits: To align with the the other question bank exercise export options.
API updates
Summary: We have added the following extensions to the API V2:
- Added support to search on null values
We've added the ability to search for records with empty attributes in API V2. To search for null values, you can use "null" as the value for the attribute in the search query. For example, to find all users without an external_id, you can search withexternal_id:null
. - Add author_id to questions
The question bank exercises already contained the author_id, but the author_id to the question response in API V2 has been added as well. - Added the numeral attribute to submissions
We have included a numeral attribute in the submission response that is determined by the chosen enumeration set in the layout. The numeral is a combination of the exercise and question position (e.g. 1a) when the assignment does not use flow, and the position of the submission within the student's test when flow is utilised. -
Improved the grading options description for assignments
The API documentation stated that university grading options are used as the default if none are specified in the request. However, this is not accurate. If a question_bank_assignment_id is provided for the assignment, then the grading options for that question bank assignment will be used as the default if none are specified in the request. This has been corrected in the updated description.
Bug fixes
- Fixed an issue where the navigation tab buttons would disappear when viewing removed results of an assignment
Due to an internal change the tab buttons disappeared. This only impacted removed results. - Fixed an issue where the author name would overlap the content when editing a question bank exercise
We have addressed the issue where, on smaller screens or when users had long names, the author drop down would overlap the content of the exercise and questions by limiting the width of the drop down to the panel on the left side. - Fixed an issue where it was not possible to search on exercise ids from the question bank overview
We previously added the ability to search within questions and choices, however, this caused issues with searching for exercise IDs. We have now resolved this issue and restored the ability to search for exercise IDs. - Fixed an issue where it was not possible to save a comment in a question bank exercise if the content overflowed the dialogue
The save button remains visible as the content of the comment is now scrollable, unlike before when it would disappear if the content exceeded the height of the dialogue. - Fixed an issue where assignment copy option would disappear if the assignment was linked to a question bank assignment
We have changed the way copying an assignment works by no longer looking at the ability to edit the linked question bank assignment. Now, users are able to copy an assignment as long as they have the ability to edit the assignment they wish to copy. - Fixed an issue when using randomised numbers with an exponent of ten in the code editor
The randomisation would remove the decimals when using a negative exponent. - Fixed an issue where the link to a requirement was displayed as HTML instead of a clickable link
When a requirement was set on an assignment, then the link to the required assignment would incorrectly display in the description at the start of the assignment. - Fixed an issue where, if a student's location could not be determined from their IP address, their location would automatically be set to Dublin
An issue has been identified with the monitor sidebar on the taking page, where if the location finder by IP address was unable to determine the location, it would always show Dublin. This has been resolved. Multiple locations are now shown if the student switched location during the test. - Fixed an issue with the order question when exporting results via the QTI export
An issue was identified with the QTI export of order questions, where the selected answers were not being displayed. This has been resolved and the selected answers are now correctly reflected in the QTI export. - Fixed an issue with hotspot questions where it was possible to drop hotspot markers on a different placeholder
We have resolved the issue where it was possible to drop a marker on a different starting position, which caused the numbers to overlap, by making it no longer possible to drop a marker on a different starting position. - Fixed issue where ProctorExam could not be enabled in a digital test
Trying to enable ProctorExam resulted in the error message 'Something went wrong', due to the changing of an optional parameter in the ProctorExam integration. - Removed redundant checkboxes on the results exercises page
The checkboxes had no functionality and sometimes caused confusion to users. - Updated the "Result" icon in the review summary and the tab bar (student view)
In a previous release, we updated the 'Result' icon. However, it was missed in these places. - Fixed an issue with exporting images in the export open answers
Images would not be exported when exporting answers to open questions. The images are now shown correctly and included in the export zip. - Fixed an issue where it was not possible for department admins or administrators to remove the files of a result
Previously, it was not possible to remove uploaded files that a department admin or administrator themself did not upload. Now it is possible for these users to delete their own file uploads for a result. - Fixed generating a question bank assignment with fixed questions via blueprint with tags present
An issue has been identified with generating an assignment based on a blueprint in combination with tags. When using a fixed question selection, if you try to exclude a tag by setting the minimum and maximum boundaries to 0, the system would exclude all questions with any tags. However, when using a randomised selection, the system would include questions with other tags. To resolve this inconsistency, the fixed question selection will no longer exclude questions with other tags. - Prevent two scrollbars in a digital test for small screen sizes
We have resolved the issue where a second scrollbar would occasionally appear in digital tests on devices with limited screen height by fixing the navigation bar at the bottom, avoiding the unnecessary scrollbar. - Fixed issues with the highlighting of multiple active tabs in the platform
This includes:- Viewing the exercise page of the results overview
- Viewing removed courses in the account settings
- Viewing removed question banks in the account settings
- Viewing roles in the university settings
Changes to the platform
Changes to the question insights
Summary: We have made multiple changes to the question insights:
- The rank correlation has been moved to the questions tab in the assignment insights
- A filter has been added to filter questions on contribution in assignment insights
- The grading scheme breakdown in the assignment insights has been moved to a collapsable table
- For match questions: the match breakdown in the assignment insights has been moved to a collapsable table
- For multiple choice questions: the multiple choice breakdown in the assignment insights has been moved to a collapsable table
- For multiple choice questions: added the Rat- and Rar-values for multiple choice alternatives
Benefits: There are multiple benefits to the applied changes. We now show more data related to questions in one place. Additionally, you have the possibility to extract specific entries with the new filter. Lastly, more insights are provided with the new values which are added.
Added a warning when linking a LMS course to an Ans course and the send grades option is disabled
Summary: We now show a warning when a LMS course is linked to an Ans course and the send marks option is disabled.
Benefits: This warning informs you that the grades cannot be pushed back to the LMS.
Added the possibility to connect an LMS course to multiple courses via LTI 1.3
Summary: If a LMS course was linked to multiple courses in Ans, students would always be enrolled in the first course in Ans. We now correctly link the LMS course to the course in Ans.
Benefits: This change allows you to have separate courses for summative and formative assignments from within the same LMS course.
Added a taking page overview for hand-in assignments
Summary: This change allows teachers to reopen a result for a specific student in hand-in assignments so students can resubmit the final version of their file.
Additional information: Compared to the taking page of a digital test, the hand-in assignment does not support:
- Controlling whether the assignment can be started
- Accessing the progress of questions
- Ability to chat with participants
Removed the ability to un-submit as participant for hand-in assignments
Benefits: This change helps to prevent fraud in cases where students reload the better version of their answers after the deadline. This also helps to trace when a student handed in the final version. In addition, we have improved the warning message to make it clear for students that they are permanently submitting their assignment.
Additional information: Participants can no longer re-open hand-in assignment results by themselves. Staff with access to the taking page can re-open results by moving a result back to busy.
We now prohibit uploading files with certain file extensions
Summary: To prevent students from uploading damaging files, we no longer permit uploading system files (exe, sh, php, bat, com, cmd, inf, ipa, osx, pif, run and wsh).
Benefits: This reduces the risk that a student uploads a malicious file which could infect a teachers device.
Additional information: If students are required to upload system files, you will need to inform them to compress the file into a zip file before uploading.
Added webm videos to the accepted file types list when uploading a video to a description
Summary: Previously, we only accepted mp4 as an accepted video file when adding a video to a description of an exercise. We have now added the option to add webm videos.
Benefits: Safe Exam Browser does not allow mp4 videos to be played. By uploading webm files instead, videos can be viewed if Safe Exam Browser is enabled in your digital test.
Additional information: It was still possible to upload any other type of file through the unrestricted upload, however, this was not always clear.
Emails sent from within Ans are now sent from no-reply@ans.app instead of support@ans.app
Summary: We've changed the sending email for emails from within the platform from support@ans.app to no-reply@ans.app.
Benefits: Questions from students that replied to the daily summary email of discussions will no longer be sent to Ans support. Instead, students will be advised to contact their teacher or student support directly.
The validation of a submission's file size and type is now handled by Ouriginal
Summary: If your institution negotiates in their license with Ouriginal for file size limit to be higher than 20 MB, the file will no longer be automatically rejected by Ans if it exceed 20 MB.
Benefits: Rejection of files is now based on the terms negotiated between your institution and Ouriginal. Similarly, in the future, if Ouriginal expands the list of accepted file types, Ans will not interfere.
We now redact IP addresses in logs
Description: We only show the last two blocks of the IP address. For IPv4 this looks like "***.***.23.123" and for IPv6 this looks like "::370:7334".
Benefits: This better protects the privacy of students.
Additional info: IP addresses returned in the logs via API V2 are also redacted.
Improved the filtering at the student overview in the users tab
Summary: At the student overview in the users tab we have made the following improvements:
- Added restore filter functionality to the students overview
- Moved delete action to bottom of the action list at the students overview
- Renamed 'clear all filters' to 'clear filters'
- Renamed actions to 'mark as student' and 'mark as alumni' (beta)
Removed the option to write a feature request when asking a question
Summary: It's no longer possible to use the feature request template when asking a question. We still support asking a question, reporting a problem or sharing feedback via the platform. To perform a feature request, you can use our support email address, support@ans.app.
Renaming of multiple elements in the platform
Summary: Based on your feedback, we are working on multiple interface inconstancies and improvements. Below you can find the element(s) that have been renamed, including the place in the platform where it changed. The change is applied to all translations of the platform unless indicated otherwise.
- Renamed "all students" to "all learners" for publication timeslots. This applies to the English version of the platform only.
- Renamed "choices" to "alternatives" in edit layout of a written assignment. This applies to the English version of the platform only.
- Rename "Opgaven" to "Flowgroepen" in "Shuffle de volgorde van de opgaven" in the edit layout part of a digital test. This applies to the Dutch version of the platform only.
Open beta changes
Added the possibility to import questions in a question bank via the Respondus format
Summary: It is now possible to import multiple choice questions to a question bank using the Respondus import format.
Benefits: The new format is in line with the Respondus standards. Respondus is a platform which allows the import and export of questions through CSV. Therefore, it will be easier to migrate from Respondus to Ans.
Additional information: The import will replace the CSV import in the near future. We have provided all necessary details in the important changes part of this article.
Bug fixes
